About Us:

Chippenham 23 Badminton Club a is a friendly Club based in Chippenham, Wiltshire.

Our standard is variable and includes County players both at Senior and Veteran level. We are always looking for new members who play at a competitive level. Currently we have 4 teams in the Mid Wilts League, 3 mixed and 1 level doubles. We are affiliated to Wiltshire County Badminton Association and Badminton England.

We play in the Mid Wilts League and the Mid Wilts Knock Out Cup. We also compete in the Wiltshire County Competitions of a League, Fiddes Cup and Wilson Lee Cup.

The County League is a new competition starting this coming season and is a 6 team League comprising of of the top 2 teams from each Wiltshire district playing 5 games. The Fiddes Cup is a County Knock Out Cup aimed at County players. The Wilson Lee is also a County Cup aimed at League players. The Mid Wilts Knock out Cup is handicapped and all club memebers are eligible to play. There are also Inter District competitions where the teams are selected from players in the Mid Wilts League. The Tony Winslow Cup is for the A team players of all ages, the Gillian Scott Cup for the B team players of all ages and the Yehlex Cup is for Juniors.

We have a junior section for young improving players, primarily to encourage the playing of badminton, but also with an eye to the future of the club. Junior club is held on Monday nights immediately prior to senior club night, from 7pm to 8pm, at a cost of 1.50 per person - a subsidised rate afforded by the senior club. The Veterans have an Inter District competition, the teams comprise of Over 40s, Over 45s and Over 50s.

Chippenham 23 play at Sheldon School in a 5 Court hall using feather shuttlecocks only. We run a winter and summer club.

Summer club starts in mid April until mid September playing on Wednesdays from 7.30- 10pm.

Winter club runs from mid September until mid April playing on Mondays from 8-10pm and Wednesdays from 7-10pm.

Our matches are generally arranged for Wednesdays, leaving club nights on the Mondays.
